Fishing

Join us for an angling experience of a lifetime. The waters are legendary in fishing circles: the Lake Fork of the Gunnison, Rio Grande, and San Miguel, just to name a few. The fertile trout streams of the Lake City area are an undiscovered treasure in the San Juan Mountains.

Whether you are a seasoned pro or just a beginner, we can provide the fishing experience that you will not soon forget. High country Cutthroat or trophy Brown and Rainbow; we've got it all! Instruction, float fishing, or walk and wade fishing; we can customize a fishing excursion just for you or your group.

Our guide staff have many years of fishing experience in the Lake City area, the Gunnison Basin and throughout the world. In addition to their intimate knowledge of, and love for fishing; our guides are personal companions, educated naturalists and historians; so besides catching fish you may learn something along the way.

Rafting

EXPERIENCE YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS. Colorado rafting adventure is a great experience you won’t want to miss! We have a safety record on the River, which no other outfitter can match. Our guides are very well trained. The rivers' draining southwestern Colorado's San Juan Mountains offer the traveler a multitude of options for adventure: pristine alpine and desert scenery; Class II floats and Class IV intensity; half day, full day, overnight and multi-day excursions.

We operate river trips on the Lake Fork of the Gunnison, San Miguel, Rio Grande, and Gunnison Rivers.

4-Wheel Drive Tour

Full day tours encompass the entire Alpine Loop with a stop for lunch in the ghost town of Animas Forks, one of the best preserved mining camps in all the San Juans.

Half day tours traverse Henson Creek to the top of Engineer Pass at 12,800 feet with stops at Whitmore Falls, Rose's Cabin, Capital City, and the famous Ute-Ulay Mine and Mill.

Our new evening supper tours explore the mining camp of Carson near the Continental Divide, a spur off of the Alpine Loop traversing Wager Gulch. Ample time is allowed for exploring the extremely well preserved 'ghost town' while your guide whips up a gourmet camp cooked meal in the high country. This is a Jeep Tour you will not forget!

Snowmobile Rides

If you are ready for a little fun, snowmobile rides are the way to go. We provide a great program for both beginners and advanced riders. Our first concern is safety, that is why we provide you with experts that will guide you in this great trip.

Hiking & Sight Seeing

Whether this is your first trip to the Lake City area or you've been coming here for years, our hikes will answer all those questions you've had about what lives here and grows here and why so much of it reaches towards the sky. Learning a little about the San Juans will help you appreciate this unique environment.

Trips will be conducted by our guides/naturalists in Alpine Gulch and the Cooper Creek/Lake area, both in the heart of the San Juans. While walking through some of the most pristine wilderness in the lower forty-eight states, our hikes will stress a variety of subjects from geology to alpine ecosystems. Your guides will describe and explain in detail the wonders around you: the evergreens and deciduous trees, the wildflowers and water plants, the Lake City Caldera and the mighty, high-country elk herds.

Horseback Riding

HALF DAY : For guests, at their first experience it is suggested to take it easy and to enjoy the riding experience without going to far. A 4 hours ride is available.
You will experience the excitement of riding through rivers, meadows and creeks in a complete natural environment. A break along the way gives riders the opportunity to relax and to have lunch among the Aspens.

FULL DAY : For guests with a bit more riding experiences can enjoy the beauty of the Sherman area, with a full day ride. Different excursions are planned to make the full day ride the best way to experience Colorado's backcountry.

Our experience wranglers will be happy to show you the beauty of the Colorado Rockies Mountains.
